We also watched the movie Fred Claus. It was a cute film, Vince Vaugn did a nice job, but I didn't find it nearly as entertaining as Elf, which holds strong with my favorite Christmas films such as Bad Santa and A Christmas Story. For the first half of Fred Claus, they dubbed in Flintstones-esque sound effects over a lot of things, which seemed silly and pointless. I guess maybe it is just that I am not the target demographic, but the missus and I both felt the sound effects actually distracted from the movie.
